I also never said to stop recycling, just that maybe you could do something better:Does recycling hurt the environment? No. Should you stop? Of course not.
I don't know why every time you respond to a post of mine it comes down to you accusing me of some sort of illegal use of the internet.
Regardless, I think I made my two points fine enough in the original post.
The first point:As the chart suggests, the potential for big reductions in trash rests with the manufacturers. The second point:If every single household recycled as much as they could, it just wouldn't matter much. We just don't produce enough trash to make a difference (good for us, right?).
First, and most important, is that since 94% of the country's waste is generated by manufacturers, positive changes, no matter how small, magnify into enormous benefits for the environment. So there is huge potential for environmental good in increasing efficiencies in the manufacturing process. So my whole point is that because these manufacturers do so much bad its possible reap huge environmental rewards. As a practical matter in looking for ways to significantly reduce our impact on the environment, I don't find your argument about scales very useful.
Second, is that since consumer trash is only 2.5% of the total trash, even all of us working together will only ever be able to make a difference of 2.5%. So, as far as recycling goes, the point is that even group-action has the potential for only a small effect on the reduction of trash.
And perhaps my third point is that I think green consumerism is vain. Not really for the reason you mentioned, but for other reasons I don't think I will go in to.
Citigroup, which according to this list of banks and their total assets, is the the biggest bank. It has assets that total about $2,200 billion. According to FNB's site, they have assets of about $20 billion. So about 110 times smaller than the biggest.
The link above bottoms out at about $50 billion. But I imagine that FNB has lots of company below that threshhold.
duh. As I said, there is a definition for a word and then there is the connotation for a word. You used to be a creative writer, I shouldn't have to tell you that.
Its like, if you were at a trek convention, and some dude was like, "Man, lets go fuck up those fanboys." Everyone at the trek convention would know that meant you were going to go fuck up some star wars nerds. If you said that somewhere else, it would mean something different.
Interesting tidbit, but using 'fanboy' generally carries with it a Star Wars connotation (thats why there is a Star Wars film about die-hard fans named Fanboys). Obviously, fanboy is a generic term that can be used for anything, but subtlety is the spice of life.
(Also obvious, a die-hard fan of Star Trek would more properly be called a Trekkie.)
Although, to duplicate their success someone would only need to start indefatigably reviewing almost every single show in Omaha. Thats not so hard, right? cheers guys
Whats your first song? It should be Jim Cain, which I don't think has any effects on his voice.
Theres maybe some embarrassing vocal things on Roccoco Zephyr and All Thoughts Are Prey to Some Beast. But they are growing on me. And then theres the throw away song Invocation...
But Jim Cain and Too Many Birds totally make it worth it

Well, so I made two points (maybe three)...
