I'm pretty peeved about this whole thing going viral before I had a chance to radio show it. I was there three weeks ago before it hit facebook and I am bummed. Bummed.
Coach and I drank a can of Falstaff from 1984 that we found in his basement. it was pretty good.
we also drank a river city roundup one off from the 80's too.
then, later, we drank half of a $795 dollar bottle of rum that we found in my parents liqour cabinet and added water to it to make it look full. i think we made rum and cokes with it.
no. no. What I was saying was that apparently the owner believes that Aksarben Village is in midtown. And also that something that doesn't yet exist is somehow a qualifier for being "down with midtown"
Also, why does every article that comes out about development in omaha read like a marketing department wrote it?
"“I believe in Midtown – both of my stores are in Midtown,” Schwartz said. Midtown Crossing at Turner Park is a 15-acre, mixed-use urban development in the heart of Omaha’s historic Midtown neighborhood. Built around an expanded and revitalized Turner Park, the million-square-foot development includes nearly 500 condominium and apartment units as well as more than 220,000 square feet for restaurants, retailers and entertainment venues along with parking for more than 3,000 vehicles. Anchor tenants include Marcus Midtown Cinema, Prairie Life Fitness and an Element by Westin Hotels. For more information, please visit midtowncrossing.com."
So I guess Aksarben Village is in midtown and something that doesn't yet exist is also in midtown.
Anyway, while I was hoping a Trader Joe's would take a spot in Midtown Crossing, I guess this is pretty sweet. I mean, nothing says urban renewal like theatres that require headshots when you're applying for a job and dortitos with cost-plus pricing.
